We now have an exciting opportunity for a Workplace Health and Safety Officer to join us on a part-time basis in Burwood, NSW (Inner-Western suburbs of Sydney).

Your next opportunity

As our new Workplace Health and Safety Officer, you will be responsible for actively managing the development and maintenance of a safe working environment for all of our employees and children.

Core duties:

  • Ensure that we are achieving regulatory compliance standards;
  • Collaborate with the Operations Team on the various requirements of Childsafe;
  • Ensure our incidents and hazards reporting and follow-up processes are performed correctly and effectively;
  • Conduct and/or manage safety audits, and implement any changes; and
  • Coordinate the activities, training and communication of health-related issues (e.g., COVID-19 and Mental Health).

What you will bring to the team

To thrive in the role, you will have significant experience in a previous WHS or safety management role from an early education or relevant services background. Additionally, you will at a minimum possess a Diploma level qualification in WHS.

While not essential, a qualification in training and assessment would also be held in high regard.

It is crucial that you are a compassionate and self-motivated individual with a positive and can-do attitude. You must also have strong interpersonal skills including written communication skills which you will use frequently when preparing reports and correspondence.

Please note: It is essential that you hold a current Working with Children Check. You will also need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 including your booster.
